  • Calories : 1/3 of that of apple
  • Vitamin C : twice that of strawberry, four times that of orange, six times that of kiwi, 41 times that of apple
  • Vitamin A (RE) : ½ of that of carrot
  • Recommended daily intake (for 30 ~ 49 years, female)
    - Necessary Vitamin C a day : 70 mg -> ¼ red paprika
    - Necessary Vitamin A a day : 700 RE -> 1 red paprika(fried)

Vitamin A (beta carotene)
  • Function : Vitamin A helps us to see in dim light and is necessary for proper bone growth, tooth development, and reproduction
  • Deficiency : Blindness, Increased risk of mortality from infectious disease, Abnormal function of many epithelial cells, Abnormal bone growth

Vitamin C
  • Function : Prevents and, in many cases, cure, a wide range of common and/or lethal diseases, notably the common cold and heart disease. Vitamin C lowers blood pressure and cholesterol levels, helps thin the blood and protect it against oxidation and works in close synergism with vitamin E. Vitamin C also helps prevent atherosclerosis by strengthening the artery walls through its participation in the synthesis of collagen, and by preventing the undesirable adhesion of white blood cells to damaged arteries. An adequate intake of the vitamin is highly protective against stroke and heart attack.
  • Deficiency : Scurvy is an avitaminosis resulting from lack of vitamin C, as without this vitamin, the synthesised collagen is too unstable to meet its function. Scurvy leads to the formation of liver spots on the skin, spongy gums, and bleeding from all mucous membranes. The spots are most abundant on the thighs and legs, and a person with the ailment looks pale, feels depressed, and is partially immobilized. In advanced scurvy there are open, suppurating wounds and loss of teeth and, eventually, death

Kalium
  • Function : Kalium is an essential mineral macronutrient in human nutrition; it is the major cation (positive ion) inside animal cells, and it is thus important in maintaining fluid and electrolyte balance in the body.
    Kalium  is also important in allowing muscle contraction and the sending of all nerve impulses in animals.

Calories and Moisture
  • Rich in sugar and has low calories. High-moisture. Good for diet

Other nutrients
  • Contains other nutrients found in vegetables and fruits.
